Parent Information Evening on MAT update
A letter was sent to parents on Monday 29th January 2018 inviting parents to attend an information evening on Monday 19th February starting at 8.30pm in the Main Hall at
Lubavitch House.
Background
Following the judgement made by Ofsted in April 2016 that the Boys' School was inadequate, the school was issued with an order to become an Academy by Dr Tim Coulson, Regional Commissioner for Schools (RCS). Whilst establishing a sponsor arrangement for the school, the Regional Schools Commissioner constituted an Interim Executive Board (IEB) to govern the school and oversee the schools improvement from 18 July 2016.
Following careful consideration by the Governing Body of the Lubavitch Senior Girls and the Ruth Lunzer Lubavitch Junior Girls Schools, it was agreed that a new multi-academy trust, The Lubavitch Multi Academy Trust, would be established and take responsibility for the running of the three schools:
- Lubavitch Junior Boys School
- Lubavitch Ruth Lunzer Girls Primary School
- Lubavitch Senior Girls School
The new Lubavitch Multi Academy Trust will have a Board of Trustees made up of people from the Lubavitch and the wider Jewish community with the appropriate experience, skills and knowledge to oversee the effective, efficient and compliant running of the schools, as well as others who are experts in their respective fields who have been appointed by the DfE to help support the trust.
Importantly, they are all people who understand and value the religious ethos, values and principles that underpin the schools. The Trustees will have overall accountability to the Department for Education (DfE) but each school would be subject to individual Ofsted inspections.
